I feel like this is a WWII metaphor, but it could be other things as well.

Well, it works for everything Russians and Germans both produce, cars, fruit, vegetables etc. I guess it’s just a depiction of German quality versus Russian scale.

I feel like it is too, when the Russians made much worse quality things used for fighting in WW2 (tanks) and easily outnumbered the small amount of high quality german materials.
